POCA are a group of 'radical reformist'? Goldsmiths academics, phd students and others who have established a set of high profile institutional relationships principally in the UK but now stretching across the EU. They were present en masse at Summit and participating on main panel discussions. As far as I know they are an indirectly funded (though this would need to be properly researched) 'discourse provider' to a number of institutions. Their presence at Summit in Berlin should be seen in relation to an ongoing project at The Serpentine in London Local Operations which has hauled in a number of British 'left' tendencies with its art world correlate at PILOT: Live archive for artists and curators project in Venice.

I've already been in discussion with Susan Kelly, a key member who had recently lost her job on the visual arts course at Goldsmiths. POCA/Micropolitics working group have already set up talks with a number of key theorists, academics including Paulo Virno, BIFO and Brian Holmes. This is a relatively young (and institutionally 'managed') self-org group and some research to be done here. I'm not sure if this is feeding directly off the Goldsmiths programme/budget or if monies are secured elsewhere. Same would apply to the Serpentine Pilot project where it has to be presumed that monies are coming from outside the institution.

  • Contact the Goldsmiths backed self-orgers POCA/Micropolitics working group. Rodrigo? and Sally Tennant. Josie has email and contact details and Rodrigo seemed more than happy to discuss what's been going on behind the scenes at Goldsmiths
